It’s been a long winter, luckily we filled many of our days stuck inside with reading great books. We read a lot of winter themed books and we could not be happier to start finding some fun books that have more of a spring feel or just less snow. Here are some of Emilie’s favorites this month!
Duck and Goose
Duck and Goose find a polk-a-dot ball they mistake for an egg. Silliness ensues as they learn cooperation and sharing. In caring for their egg they soon start a wonderful friendship. This book is sweet and silly, it became an instant hit in our house and we can’t wait to read more in the Duck and Goose series!!
Harry the Dirty Dog
Harry is a white dog who hates baths. One day he hides the scrubbing brush and runs away. He has all kinds of adventures getting dirty. When he gets back home he will need a bath to show his family he is really Harry. This is an adorable book perfect for little dog lovers and all those who like to get dirty.
House at Pooh Corner
We started reading Emilie a chapter in Winne-the-Pooh at bedtime and she loved it! So naturally after reading all the chapters multiple times, we started The House at Pooh Corner. These classic stories of Pooh and Christopher Robin are lovely and heartwarming. Emilie loves the silly words and the lovable characters. This is the book where Tigger is introduced!
Rosie Revere Engineer
This book is one of Emilie’s (and one of my) absolute favorites! Rosie is quiet and shy but builds great and wonderful gizmos and inventions. One day her confidence is shaken and she questions her dreams of being a great engineer. That is until her great great aunt Rose comes for a visit and tells Rosie of her dream to fly and Rosie is determined to make it come true. This book is awesome for any little girl (or boy) with big dreams. With wonderful rhymes and colorful pictures it teaches little ones to have confidence in their dreams and that “the only true failure comes when you quit.”
